Trident offers a fast-paced, agile, team-oriented work environment with an exceptional compensation package.About this Position:We are seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer at our Fairfax, VA location.   Essential Functions:Manage engineering discipline personnelPerformance managementCareer and career path guidance and planningSuccession planning Continuous performance review managementYearly salary reviewsIdentify demand for additional personnel in the disciplineSubject matter expert for embedded hardware engineering disciplineLead embedded hardware development process: requirements specification, characterization, simulation, high-speed digital design, signal processing, schematic capture, PCB layout and routing, PCA testing, and system integrationExperience with mixed-signal PCA development, utilizing High Density Interconnect (HDI) PCBs and high speed (> 1 GHz) components/circuitsExperience with FPGA and microprocessor development, including hardware descriptor languages (i.e. Verilog, VHDL)Experience with hardware integration, test, and debug tools such as logic analyzers, scopes, emulatorsDemonstrated experience implementing PCI, PCIe, cPCI, VME, or VPX standards (VITA 46, VITA 65)Conduct peer reviews of design work and documentationProvide technical guidance to discipline teamProvide technical guidance to other engineering teams, PMO, EGD and VPSupport project executionSupport direct project tasks as needed based on severity of resource demand and challenge of designSupport staffing planning and allocationCost Account ManagementEstablish plans of execution for discipline team in support of project scope, schedule, and budgetMonitor execution plans and adjust as necessaryCoordinate with project managers and lead engineers for plan adjustments as necessaryStatus plan performance and adjustments with project management, lead engineers, and Engineering DirectorSupport business development effortsTask estimationScope definitionRepresent Trident Systems EngineeringCustomer interface as a subject matter expertVendor interfaceSupport ES technology roadmap by identifying goals for department and plans for execution   Education/Certification: Master of Science degree in electrical engineering and/or computer engineering.  Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in direct application of engineering discipline subject matter  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Team leadership skills and capabilitiesManage multiple tasks simultaneouslyResource planning and skills applicationProject task planningEngineering task estimation The successful candidate must be capable of receiving a US Government security clearance. US Citizenship Required.  EEO Statement:  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability, race, national origin, color, religion, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.  Trident Systems Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer of protected Veterans and a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
