Professor Wendell’s Engineering Learning Systems Lab is an interdisciplinary group of engineers and STEM educators conducting research on engineering curriculum materials and pedagogical strategies. Summer research assistants support several projects related to both K-12 and college-level engineering design. These projects include community-connected engineering curriculum, learning assistant pedagogy, classroom engineering talk, and undergraduate engineering portfolios. Assistants will help create curriculum supplements (videos and web resources about engineering and specific design examples), analyze video clips and student assessments from classrooms, and support teacher and faculty workshops. Applicants must be able to understand and transcribe audio recordings and video recordings in English. (We will teach you how to use transcription software.)
