Outreach interns will work with Elissa Milto to facilitate virtual Design and Engineering Workshops for students in K-12. Responsibilities include preparing and testing lessons for workshop activities and co-leading workshops on Zoom. Workshop will include a range of topics and tools including LEGO robotics, Scratch, and other technologies that are developmentally appropriate for K-12 students. In addition to exposing participants to open-ended, design-based engineering, CEEO workshops strive to support students’ social and emotional learning so that they feel empowered to do engineering as well as work on collaboration and other skills that are necessary to work as part of a team. There will be training before the workshops begin so everyone will get experience teaching online. There is an opportunity for a part-time schedule.
Start/End Dates: June 24- August 13
Hours per week: 10-35
Hourly rate: $16.00 – $17.00/hr
