This workshop introduces high school students to engineering concepts and design through a series of activities using a small Raspberry Pi-powered mobile robotics platform, the GoPiGo. The robot is programmed with simple Python scripts and prior robotics experience is not required for this position. Workshop assistants will help to design and refine workshop activities, help students to debug technical and coding challenges, support students in small group activities, and mentor final projects.
There will be 2 sessions run of EDL in July and August. One session will be July 12 to July 23, 2021 and the second session will be July 26 to August 6, 2021, both workshops run from 9:00-3:30. Pre-workshop instructor training and preparations will begin on July 5. There is the possibility for part-time work, such as afternoons only or evening office hour sessions. Ideal candidates will have interest and passion for supporting students in open-ended projects and some Python programming experience. It is helpful but not required, to have intermediate-level Python programming experience (from ES-02 (Python) or equivalent course), prior use of the Raspberry Pi platform or robotics components, including microcontrollers, sensors, motors, cameras, etc.

Engineering Investigations (EI): There will be one session of EI on July 5-16 from 9:00-3:30. There is the possibility for part-time work.
