Engineering Student Assistant
Dr. Thompson Lab: Department of Neurosurgery
There is an immediate opening for an hourly engineering student researcher. This position is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours of work for this position are variable, but less than 18 hours/week and will vary according to surgical schedule.
Nature of Work
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine invites applications for a neurosurgery student research position to work in the Thompson Laboratory performing computational analyses on time series data sets recorded from deep brains stimulation devices. The successful applicant will be comfortable in a computational lab, using several different software platforms to complete their work.
Knowledge of IRB protocols, compliances, policies, and regulations will become necessary.
-The successful candidate will currently be in the process of completing a Master’s degree in a engineering, bioengineering, or neural-engineering.
-Experience using Matlab or Python
– Experience and expertise in the Neurosciences
– Experience in scientific writing and presentations
Applicants must be self-motivated, detail-oriented with a strong work ethic. The
ability to communicate and collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary group of clinicians and basic neuroscientists is necessary.
