Equity and Inclusion Nonprofit – Marketing and Communications Internship (Summer 2021)
This is an exciting virtual internship position for a current college or graduate student who is skilled in writing and graphic design, and is passionate about diversity and inclusion.
VISIONS, Inc. is a nonprofit organization specializing in diversity and inclusion training and consulting.
VISIONS is a woman- and POC-led nonprofit, founded in 1984 by three Black women and a White Jewish man. VISIONS empowers individuals and organizations to recognize the value in our differences, leveraging them to advance diversity, equity and inclusion at the personal, interpersonal, institutional levels and cultural levels. VISIONS’ time-tested model offers a holistic approach and provides practical tools for creating lasting multicultural change. VISIONS is supported by a diverse team of consultants across the U.S. and abroad. Since 1984, VISIONS has trained more than 115,000 people and worked with over 500 organizations.
Title: Marketing & Communications Intern (Unpaid)
Direct Supervisor: Director of Development
Hours: up to 20 hours per week
Additionally, VISIONS staff will work with you to complete any requirements for course credit.
GENERAL DUTIES: This virtual Internship position will be responsible for creating communication materials such as flyers and email campaigns, and content for our website and social media outlets. In addition, this position will create other content as needed for marketing and communications efforts. T
This position is fully virtual and the intern is expected to utilize their own computers to complete required tasks, and the intern must be eligible to work in the United States. While hours are flexible, the intern is expected to set up regular weekly work hours with their supervisor, and all work hours are expected to be between 8 am to 6 pm EST, Monday to Friday.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to design simple graphics and layouts
- Familiarity with social media including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
- Familiarity with programs such as Hootsuite, Canva, Constant Contact and Weebly
- Familiarity with the use of Google Suites
- Good organizational and project management skills
- Interest in diversity and inclusion work, and in the mission and work of VISIONS
