Newsletter Team

Position Details:

The newsletter editor may write and edit text, create graphics to accompany text, convert photographs and drawings into digital images and then manipulate those images, design page layouts, create proposals.

Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:

  • Design, execute and implement strategies for the development of a biweekly newsletter designed to engage donors, and broadly encourage engagement with the issue of incarceration.
  • Foster mutually beneficial relationships between WITNESS and its diverse formerly incarcerated community of constituents and activist and advocates.
  • Must have prior experience producing a newsletter

Qualifications, Credentials, and Technical Skills Required:

  • Computer skills
  • Create artistic ideas in layout and design
  • Utilize Microsoft Office software, Printshop, Adobe Acrobat, Canva

Internships are available in the fall,winter, spring,and summer semesters. This internship will run from the summer, through the fall, with an option to extend into the spring semester. Because this is an unpaid internship, Witness to Mass Incarceration is happy to provide recommendations or references for all interns. In terms of internship credit, some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.
