Seniors, this series has been designed especially for you! Whether you have secured a position or are exploring opportunities and identifying ways to advance your career goals during this semester, there is something for everyone! Our spring series includes in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and online career content. Read the descriptions below and visit the links to RSVP in Handshake.
Note: While this series has been designed with seniors in mind, undergraduate and graduate students of all class years are welcome to attend.
Beyond Tufts: Evaluating and Understanding a Job Offer – Wednesday, March 8, 12 PM, Joyce Cummings Center Room 160
You excelled in your final interview and now you have a job or internship offer to consider. Congratulations! How do you know if you received a competitive offer? What is the etiquette for asking about an increase in pay? Confused about benefits for your first job? This session will benefit those students who are at or near the end of their search process. Students will understand how to evaluate a single or multiple job offers, including common job offer lingo (eg. starting bonuses, non-compete language, 401Ks, tax-deferred benefits, etc.)
Beyond Tufts: Interviewing with Intention – Wednesday, March 8, 6 PM, Alumnae Lounge
This is the interviewing event you’ve been waiting for! Attend this session to learn about behavioral interviewing and get firsthand practice in responding to top interview questions asked by professionals across variety of career communities. Get targeted advice about interviewing, such as how best to prepare and strategies to best market your strengths.
Beyond Tufts: Navigating Uncertainties – Strategies for Well-Being After Graduation – Monday, April 3, 4 PM, Milmore Room, Dowling Hall, limited to 30 seniors
We all need a variety of tools and resources when faced with stressful times and uncertainty. Handling the stress of the job search may require tools to manage anxious feelings or negative thoughts. The first few weeks at a new job can be an adjustment and having a plan can be helpful. This session will introduce a variety of skills and resources for seniors graduating this Spring and provide an opportunity for conversation and practice. The goal is to come away with a wellbeing plan that you tailor to your needs. Offered in partnership with Tufts CMHS
Beyond Tufts: Working Abroad – Finding Internship Programs or Post-Grad Work – Wednesday, April 12, 12 PM via Zoom
Have you ever thought about pursuing an internship or post-graduate opportunity outside of the United States? Many students may be unsure where to start identifying programs and potential employers outside the United States. This session will feature advice from various members of the Tufts community on ways to land a work experience in another country, begin your job search abroad, or find an internship, fellowship, or volunteer opportunity. Attend this session to identify ways to make your global career interests beyond Tufts a reality! Offered in partnership with Tufts Global Education
Beyond Tufts: From Here to There… The Grad School Edition (Podcast series)
Tufts alumni share their stories of how they got from here, to there – the graduate school addition! In this podcast episode, Career Fellows talk to alumni about their experiences making decisions about graduate school and navigating the application process. Hear advice from different industries and specialties about how and when to think about graduate school.
