What To Expect in Your First Appointment

“I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first Career Center appointment, but it turned out to be one of the most helpful conversations I had during my first semester. My advisor didn’t expect me to have a plan—instead, they asked thoughtful questions about what I enjoy, what I’m curious about, and what I might want to try. I left feeling more confident and excited to explore. It really helped me see that career planning isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about starting the conversation.”
