>> My name is KerriLaine Prunella, and I am a federal Human Resources Specialist. Within my organization, it's referred to as an HR Business Partner. So it's basically like being an internal consultant but also with some operational specialty, whether it be employee relations or recruiting and also looking at kind of manager and employee development and also some strategic planning. What I joke about is the only consistent thing is e-mail because certain days I might be putting together a briefing about a policy update and then having to brief some of our senior leaders as well as some of our employees, whether it be about telecommuting or about some development options that they have, whether they're senior executives or entry-level employees. And it's just a plethora of things that we're basically dealing with on a daily basis. I start, usually around, my official time of duty is 7:30. I usually get into the office around 7:15 in the morning and kind of go through what's going on in e-mail, what was awaiting me overnight. I work, usually, until around 5:15, 5:30 depending upon what's going on. If we have some special sessions, maybe I'll flex the schedule little bit. Government is great that it does offer certain flexible work schedules so employees can either do every other Friday or Monday off or some tele-working or some compressed schedule along those lines. But I'm usually an early arriver, which is good. With my particular job, it's mostly just going among the different buildings for different meetings. There are some, if there is organizations that have field offices, there may be some travel involved if you have a cohort of managers that are, say, in Colorado and going out there and meeting, really with your end user of your services, which in this case could be recruiting or something along those lines.
