Internship Spotlight: Greater Grove Hall Main Streets

Current Tufts student Brenna Trollinger shared the following about being a Summer Intern at Greater Grove Hall Main Streets

What did you do as an intern at this organization?
I worked on a report to create a Green Zone in Grove Hall. In this role I conducted literature review and wrote up the findings into an extensive report on potential interventions that could be utilized in Grove Hall regarding renewable energy, stormwater management, urban agriculture, and climate resilience. I also did some graphic design work, turning previously published works, including slides and write ups into easy to read, informative booklets and brochures.

How did you find this internship?
I found out about this internship through the weekly ENVS email newsletter.

What did you enjoy most about your internship?
I enjoyed working with the other interns as well as the flexibility and independence I had in this position.

What did you find challenging?
I found it challenging knowing where and how to get started. Because of the independent nature of the role, I was not always sure what the best way to approach and complete the project would be.

What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?
I would say to reach out to the other people you are working with to learn from them, ask as many questions as possible and just starting forming relationships with the people around you. I think this helped me get a lot more out of my internship experience.
