Internship Spotlight: Camp Baker

Current Tufts student Hasan Abdel-Nabi shared the following about being a Summer Intern at Camp Baker

What did you do as an intern at this organization?
I was an undergraduate counselor

How did you find this internship?
My advisor recommended it to me

What did you enjoy most about your internship?
Working with the children and seeing enormous growth and change within just 6 weeks

What did you find challenging?
One thing that was challenging at first was working with this one kid in particular who was a person with Autism. I could not get him to focus or pay attention to the tasks at hand so it was really hard to work with him but I eventually learned how to handle him, grab his attention and redirect his behaviors.

What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?
Be prepared to be super energetic for straight 9 hours with the children so take care of your health and sleep before coming back to camp everyday.
