Non-Profit Organization The Boys’ Room Seeking Program Instructors

The Boys’ Room is a mission-based affinity program that offers Self-Expression & Leadership Training to Black & Brown boys attending predominantly white schools (PWI). The mission of the program is to mentor, support and empower them during a critical time in their development. The goal is to enhance our boys socially and academically as well as to set the foundation for critical thinking.

They are seeking a Program Instructor for the October 2023 through May 2024 academic school year. All are welcome to apply but a Black/Brown male university student in their sophomore/junior year is preferred. The Program Instructor must have experience being in a PWI. They must have mentoring experience and be dynamic individual who will work with the program team to deliver and ensure smooth and efficient programming. The Program Instructor is responsible for ensuring the programmatic quality and integrity of all program activities. They will be responsible for working as a team member for the development of the participants and the program.  The expectation is that students will work 10 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.

Students must be in the surrounding Boston area and willing to travel to Plymouth County on a weekly basis for in person group meetings as well as be available for Zoom team meetings intermittently.  The Boys Room offers a stipend and student may also utilize academic credit.  Students are responsible for working with their academic department to obtain credits for this opportunity.
