Start-up Upside Foods is Hiring

Founded as the world’s first cultivated meat company in 2015, UPSIDE Foods (formerly Memphis Meats) grows meat, poultry, and seafood directly from animal cells and works to build a better food system that will provide everybody with access to delicious, humane, and sustainable meat. These products are not vegan or vegetarian—they are delicious meat, made without the need to raise and slaughter animals. In 2022, UPSIDE Foods became the first company in the world to receive the US FDA greenlight for cultivated meat, and UPSIDE’s cultivated chicken will be available to consumers upon receiving a grant of inspection and label approval from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

UPSIDE Foods has achieved numerous industry-defining milestones, including being the first company to produce multiple species of meat (beef, chicken, and duck). UPSIDE Foods is also the recipient of various industry awards, including New York Times’ Good Tech Awards, FastCo’s Next Big Thing in Tech, and the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation by the National Association for Business Resources. UPSIDE Foods is worth over $1 billion and has raised $608 million, including from Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Tyson Foods, Cargill, John Mackey, Kimbal and Christiana Musk, Temasek, Softbank, Norwest, Threshold, and John Doerr, and others. In 2021, UPSIDE opened its first production facility, called the Engineering, Production and Innovation Center (EPIC).

As UPSIDE Foods approaches commercialization and scales its production capacity, new talent and passionate individuals are necessary for the growth and success of the company’s mission. UPSIDE is currently hiring individuals who can help make this mission a reality. From Stem Cell Biology to Brand and Creative to Mechanical Engineering, changing the world requires a multitude of disciplines.
