How did you find this internship?
I found this internship through the Derby Entrepreneurship Center website.
What did you enjoy most about your internship?
This internship was my first time working at a start-up, and I was most curious about what the work environment would be like. A big aspect of my internship was adapting to changes as they came, working around unexpected roadblocks, and coming up with out-of-the-box solutions. The role allowed me to stay creative and utilize problem-solving skills, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
What did you find challenging?
The internship was fully remote, which initially I did not expect to be much of a challenge. At times, it was difficult to feel fully motivated in my environment. This led me to go out searching for new locations to work from, adjust my habits, and establish a routine, which is a new set of skills I can apply to my academics as well.
What advice would you offer to someone who wants to make the most of an internship like yours?
I got the most out of my internship by asking questions and seeking out feedback. Embarking on an internship will challenge you to try something you never have before, and it will likely be intimidating to do. Do not be afraid to ask questions, and do not be afraid to make mistakes.
