Litigation Paralegals provide support to senior paralegals and attorneys to ensure that all daily case needs are met. Litigation Paralegals support daily case activities by updating case databases and calendars, conducting fact finding and cite-checking, preparing materials for case events, and performing data entry and analysis. Litigation Paralegals also assist with large-scale, discovery and/or trial-related projects, such as document productions, deposition designations, and exhibits lists. Litigation Paralegals report to the Paralegal Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and categorize case documents and maintain case databases.
- Circulate filings, calendar invites, and other pertinent information to case teams.
- Catalog case materials and perform other data entry.
- Create hard copy and electronic binders, coil-bound materials, and other review materials for attorneys and quality check the information for accuracy.
- Prepare materials, including hardcopy and electronic binders and boxes, for witness meetings, hearings, depositions, jury exercises, jury selection, trials, and other case events.
- Collect and organize case law and perform basic legal research.
- Assist with proofreading and formatting filings, including adding and updating basic tables of contents and authorities and ensuring that filings are styled according to court rules.
- Create redlines and document comparisons.
- Assist with updating discovery-related logs and exhibit lists, including performing regular cross checking, pattern identification, and de-duplication.
- Assist case teams at trials, including preparing witness files, cite-checking slide decks and outlines, and maintaining daily court boxes.
- Provide other support to case teams when needed, including making local and trial court deliveries/pick-ups and completing other errands.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Pre-Law, Government, Economics, Philosophy, English, Pre-Med, or Computer Science with a 3.25+ cumulative GPA upon graduation.
- Minimum of 1 in-office legal internship.
- Strongly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Outlook and Word.

- Strong work ethic combined with active learning of new skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Proficient with computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe, and expense and accounting software strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in NetDocs or DeskSite, PACER, CM/ECF, NextGen, Westlaw, Lexis, Case Notebook or LiveNote, Relativity, SharePoint, Dropbox or equivalent, and OneNote is strongly desirable.
