Intern with local non-governmental organizations dedicated to advancing law and social justice in India.
With a rapidly growing population and increased ventures in development, the inclusion of ( and advocacy for) human rights must be included in India’s progress. As a result, these organizations are committed to addressing critical issues faced by a developing government, such as corruption, unemployment, poverty, safety, and misinformation in the media. More specifically, these organizations work to strengthen institutional mechanisms by engaging in legal advocacy and assistance, fighting against discrimination, and empowering underrepresented groups. By addressing historical injustices, promoting and improving the rule of law, and empowering young people and minorities to become active agents of change in their communities, these organizations work to strengthen human rights methods in the public landscape. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience advocating for social justice at both the grassroots and macro levels.
Depending on the Intern’s skill set and interest, the Intern will be assigned to one or more of the following projects related to law and social justice:
- Research & Policy Analysis
- Journalism, Multimedia & Communications
- Education Development
- Project Planning & Implementation
- Civic Engagement & Advocacy
