Our team is growing quickly, and we seek a talented and motivated individual for a summer internship on our Capital Markets team.
The UGE Summer Internship Program will offer undergraduate/ graduate students hands-on experience with assisting in financing the development, construction, acquisition, and operation of distributed energy assets, while learning more about the solar and renewable energy industries. As a Capital Markets Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our capital markets team in various financial activities related to solar project development and financing. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry and contribute to impactful projects that drive the transition to clean energy.

Schedule
- Paid part-time summer internship: three days a week / 8 hours a day / 12 weeks
- Hybrid for NYC Candidates, remote optional
- A $2,500 stipend will be paid to the intern
Responsibilities
- Participate in the execution of project finance transactions to support UGE’s growing portfolio
- Support the Senior Capital Markets Analyst day to day tasks
- Participate in due diligence processes and assist in the evaluation of project financing options, including tax equity, debt financing, and other capital sources.
- Help maintain databases, track project metrics, and generate reports to monitor the performance of solar projects and investment portfolios.
- Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed to support the objectives of the capital markets team.
- Support negotiations and structuring with financing counterparties
- Assist on closings for various sources of capital (tax equity, construction debt, term debt, development, capital and other products)
- Assist in data room management
- Develop a strategic perspective on financing plans for the Company at the project, portfolio and corporate-wide level
Qualifications
- Passion for the transition to clean, reliable energy and working with a mission-driven company
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of capital markets concepts, including debt financing, equity investments, structured finance, and project finance principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
