It’s tempting to make assumptions about the type of internship, volunteering, or other work experience you’re supposed to pursue with a particular major.
The truth? A Psychology major — or any Tufts major for that matter — doesn’t limit you to only 1 or 2 career paths. In reality, there are many, many possibilities! Take a look at the chart below, which provides samples of places where Tufts students have interned in recent summers (industry, organization name, position, title, and location). As you review the listings, consider the following:
- While you’ll certainly see some common themes in the types of internships, what we want you to notice is the variety in the industries and organizations where students are working.
- A second major, though helpful for some positions, is by no means required.
- Do some of these organizations sound interesting? Jot down the names and go to their websites to learn more. Do they list jobs or internships that appeal to you, whether for now or sometime in the future?
