📚 Meet Maria Rivera, Temporary Recruiting Coordinator

As Interim Recruiting Coordinator, I support the Tufts Career Center Recruiting program, including hosting career fairs, arranging on-campus interviews, and managing the Handshake job posting platform. Prior to Tufts, I worked in the biotech and life science industry as a recruiting coordinator, matching candidates to various positions in Biotech companies around the Boston area and managing interview processes. I graduated from Fisher College in 2019, where I earned my BA in communication and media.

Most interesting/unusual job: During my sophomore year of college I worked at Kate Spade. One of the tasks was doing trash runs and a group of us at the store would jump at the chance to take the trash down to the dumpster. It was our fun way of getting out of the store and creatively building in a break.

💫 October 2023 is National Disability Employment Awareness Month

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re highlighting some resources that our employer partners might find helpful around recruitment, retention, and support of candidates and employees.

This year the Tufts Career Center hosted a number of employers and organizations both virtually and on-campus to reach neurodiverse students and students with accessibility needs.

💻 Join Us for Data Science & Analytics Networking Night – Call for Employers and Tufts alumni

Tufts is hosting our first Data Science and Analytics Networking Night this fall on Wednesday, November 8th from 6:00 – 8:15 PM at Tufts University. With the ubiquity of and demand for data and information-centric professional competencies and solutions, we know it is vital for students across disciplines to understand the trends, resources, and in-demand skills valued by employers in data science roles.  Tufts has both an undergraduate and graduate degree program in data science and a graduate program in Data Analytics and this event will support our future graduates with exploring career options in this area.  We are excited to connect students, alumni, and employers for an evening of knowledge sharing, engagement, and networking.

Why you should attend this event:

  • Connect with talented students who are passionate about data science and analytics.
  • Learn about the latest trends in the data science and analytics industry.
  • Share information about your organization and your career trajectories.
  • Build relationships with potential candidates and future employees.

We are seeking both employers and alumni that would like to participate in this event.

If you are interested in participating in this event, please email Susan Atkins, Associate Director, Employer Relations
