🐘 Jumbos4Jumbos Launches for Winter Break – Deadline to Submit Projects is December 1st!
Jumbos4Jumbos is an opportunity for Tufts alumni from the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts to offer virtual projects and micro internships that will provide current students with exposure to an industry or an opportunity to build new skills such as data analysis, marketing, etc. This year the program will be managed via The Herd, where alumni and students engage in flash mentoring conversations. The site makes the process seamless, and alumni are able to self-manage and monitor the process from beginning to end.
We hope that alumni with virtual projects will consider offering them during the upcoming winter break between December 26th, 2023 through January 16th, 2024 . Tufts’ spring semester will begin on January 17th, 2024 and projects should conclude before the beginning of the semester. Employers with traditional full-time positions and summer internships (remote or in-person) can still post those positions on our Handshake site for students and alumni to access and apply for per our usual process.
You will find information about the program along with an FAQ and full guide on our Employer Relations site.
🌸 Spring Biotech & Life Sciences Virtual Career Fair – Employer Registration Information
The 2024 Biotech, Health & Life Sciences Virtual Career Fair on February 1st is an opportunity for your organization to connect, recruit, and network with early talent from Brandeis, Tufts, and Boston University with interests and desired career paths in biotech, healthcare, and life sciences.
This collaborative fair will be held virtually on our career management platform, Handshake. Not only does this provide a more intimate setting for you to meet with students, but you also have complete control over your schedule. Upon registration, you will be prompted to choose your virtual engagement format which includes:
- Group Sessions: Schedule 30-minute group sessions to meet with 50 students at one time, in one virtual room provided by Handshake (or your own virtual platform).
- 1:1 Sessions: Set up these 10-minute one-on-one sessions prior to the fair to meet with interested students.
Please remember that employers must build out their schedules in advance of student registration. Students will be unable to sign up for group and/or 1:1 sessions until you have these finalized and visible in Handshake. We are not responsible for students who attend the virtual event and are unable to access sessions.
For more information about how best to navigate this event, please review Handshake’s Virtual Career Fair Quick Guide for Employers.
You can email any questions you have prior to the event to Susan Atkins, Associate Director Employer Relations at susan.atkins@tufts.edu.
We look forward to seeing you there!
[NO-SHOW POLICY]: As a policy, we ask students who need to cancel a 1:1 meeting with an employer give notice and cancel prior to the start of the fair. This is a courtesy to the employer and to other students who would be interested in filling the slot. If the fair has started, we kindly ask that you keep your commitment as an employer partner.
