💁‍♀️ Happy Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society and has been celebrated in the United States during the month of March since 1987. In observance of the month, the Tufts Employer Relations team wanted to share resources on ways to incorporate the month into office environments and provide additional information on gender equality in the workplace. Hiring Timelines Quick Poll

The Tufts Career Center is exploring the changing hiring timelines in various industries and we would love for you to take a few minutes to complete this quick survey. We plan to share the results of the quick poll in our next employer newsletter in April 2024.

J.E.T. Jumbo Employer Thursday: Join Us On Campus to Highlight Your Co-op Opportunities to Engineers

We are seeking employers that offer Co-op Opportunities in Engineering for our undergraduate and graduate students for our J.E.T. Jumbo Employer Thursday Event on Thursday, March 28th from 11 am – 4 pm in our Mayer Campus Center.

This event is for employers to host an information table, be part of our co-op panel presentation, and to offer 1:1 interviews or coffee chats to meet with Tufts students. This is part of programming to launch new graduate co-ops in our School of Engineering this spring.

Please email Sue Atkins, Associate Director of Employer Relations for more information at susan.atkins@tufts.edu.

Join the Employer Relations team at Tufts for a roundtable discussion on Friday, April 12th – 12 noon – 1 pm pm via Zoom. We will be sharing more about the undergraduate and graduate Co-op programs in the School of Engineering. In addition, we will share how employers can participate in the program and learn about programs that will be hosted on-campus and virtually to engage with our students. A Zoom link will be sent to attendees once you register for the event.

We look forward to seeing you at our employer roundtable discussion!

Fact: Creative problem-solvers earn higher wages and stay employed when layoffs and budget cuts occur.
Why? Because people with higher-level math skills are equipped with vital analytical and computational expertise that can be applied immediately across many disciplines.
Earn your mathematics post-bac certificate this summer in an accelerated online format.

The flexible program includes your choice of four mathematics courses selected from the following:
• Bridge to Higher Mathematics (Math 65 – offered Summer 1 & Summer 2)
• Linear Algebra (Math 70 – offered Summer 1 & Summer 2)
• Mathematics Modeling & Computation (Math 87 – offered Summer 1)
• Probability (Math 165 – offered Summer 1)
• Mathematical Aspects of Data Analysis (Math 123 – offered Summer 2)
• Real Analysis I (Math 135 – offered Summer 2)

In this summer intensive, two online courses are taken in the Summer 1 Session, and two courses are taken online in the Summer 2 Session. Students also have the option to start the program online in a Summer Session and complete the certificate in the Fall semester. If you are inspired to create, interpret, and apply data in valuable ways, then this flexible program is right for you.

Apply by May 1. On the application, please apply for Fall 2024 and indicate your interest in the Summer Intensive.

If your HR department would like to discuss this and other programs with Tufts, please contact Sarah Herchel, Associate Dean, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Individual employees interested in the program should contact Graduate Admissions at gradadmissions@tufts.edu.
